Trust the Force—Don’t Be a Doubting Thomas

The Need to See Before We Believe
There’s a passage in the Bible about one of Jesus’ twelve disciples, Thomas—often called Doubting Thomas. After Jesus’ resurrection, Thomas didn’t believe it. He said he wouldn’t believe unless he could see the wounds and touch them with his own hands. It wasn’t enough to be told. He needed proof.

And honestly, aren’t we all a bit like that? Some of us more than others. We’re so deeply conditioned to believe only what we can see, touch, taste, smell, or hear. If it doesn’t fit into the narrow bandwidth of our human senses, we write it off as imaginary, irrelevant—or “woo-woo.”

The Limits of Human Perception
But here’s the catch: our senses are incredibly limited.

We humans see only about 0.0035% of the electromagnetic spectrum. That’s it. Just a sliver of reality. A dog can smell someone kilometres away. Birds of prey can spot a twitch of movement from hundreds of metres in the sky. Whales and dolphins communicate using frequencies we can’t even detect. Pigeons can detect infrasound assisting with navigation. Moths can detect pheromones from kilometres away. And all around us—radio waves, infrared beams, Wi-Fi signals—buzz and pulse invisibly.

We can’t see them, yet we believe in them because we see their effects. Our phones work. The radio plays. We accept the invisible because the outcome is tangible.

The Invisible That Feels Real
But when it comes to something bigger—like a higher consciousness, universal intelligence, or divine presence—many of us dismiss it outright. Why? Because we can’t see it, measure it, or explain it in simple terms.

And yet… some people feel it. The still ones. The connected ones. The ones who’ve slowed down enough, gotten quiet enough, let go enough, that they can sense something far beyond what the five senses offer.

It’s not just a feeling of peace or presence—it’s an awareness that this world isn’t all there is. That Earth isn’t the centre of the universe, but merely a speck in a galaxy that’s one of billions. That somehow, behind it all, something—some force—is guiding the whole cosmic dance.

Many Names, One Consciousness
Some call it God. Others call it Brahman, Spirit, Atman, Nature, the Universe, Consciousness, the Force. Whatever name you give it, it doesn’t really matter.

What matters is that we stop being so arrogant as to think we’re all that and have it all figured out. That if we can’t measure it in a lab or post it on Instagram, it doesn’t exist.

Science Catches Up
Science, after all, is just our human attempt to interpret what we observe. And now, it’s beginning to echo what the Vedas have always whispered: that everything is one indivisible whole.

In quantum physics, the famous double-slit experiment shows that particles behave differently when they are being observed. When no one is looking, they move like waves—fluid, full of potential. But once observed, they “collapse” into particles—concrete, measurable. The act of observation actually alters reality. This is known as the observer effect, and it reveals something astonishing: our perception may play a role in shaping what’s real.

And at the deepest level, many quantum physicists now suggest that there is no true separation between things at all—that everything in the universe is interconnected through a single, unified field of energy and information. In other words: the idea that we are separate from each other, from nature, or from the cosmos may be the greatest illusion of all.

Everything Is Energy
Quantum theory tells us that everything is made of the same stuff. Not solid matter, but vibrating fields of energy. What appears solid is actually 99.999999% empty space, animated by invisible, intelligent forces we barely understand.

As physicist Max Planck, the father of quantum theory, once said:

“I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness.”

A View from Above
Even astronauts, floating above Earth in total silence, often report a sudden shift in awareness—a sense of interconnectedness and awe. It’s called the Overview Effect, and it changes them forever. Nothing changed out there—but everything shifted in here.

What If We Trusted the Mystery?
So what if we stopped demanding proof and started becoming more attuned?

Accepted that as humans, we are extremely limited—our senses, our logic, our brain, even our imagination only skimming the surface of what’s really going on.

What if, instead of needing to see or measure everything, we leaned into trust? What if we started allowing the possibility that something vast, intelligent, and invisible is holding this whole miracle together?

Not something far away or separate—but something we are already part of. Something that moves us and lives through all of us.

Because maybe the point isn’t to understand it all, but just to accept we belong to something greater.
